Fresh fruit just got its moment.
We're proud to share that Fruitist has been named to Fast Company's World's 50 Most Innovative Companies of 2026 — recognized in the food category alongside some of the most forward-thinking brands in the industry.
It's a milestone that means a lot to us, because it reflects something we've believed since day one: fresh fruit deserves better. Better flavor, better consistency, better formats, and a permanent spot in the snack aisle, not just the produce section.
Rethinking what a snack can be
For too long, fresh fruit was treated as an afterthought. Inconsistent, inconvenient, easy to pass over in favor of something more reliable. We set out to change that. By combining AI-driven technology with consumer-first thinking and snack-forward product development, we've worked to turn berries into something people actively seek out and genuinely crave.
Today, Fruitist berries are available in more than 12,500 stores across the US and sold in over 40 countries. And we're just getting started.
"Fresh fruit has been overlooked as a snack for too long," said Steve Magami, Co-founder and CEO of Fruitist. "This recognition from Fast Company reflects what our team has spent years building: a brand that makes fruit something people genuinely crave. By obsessing over flavor, consistency, and convenience, we've shown that fresh fruit can compete with any snack on the shelf and win."
Fresh fruit, wherever your day takes you
Our newest format, Snack Cups, is a big part of that story. Single-serve, grab-and-go, and built for real life: lunchboxes, gym bags, desk drawers, the commute. It's fresh fruit designed to fit seamlessly into a busy day, not require planning around it.
We're also continuing to expand our lineup, with blackberries, raspberries, and cherries scaling up alongside our blueberries.
What this recognition means
Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list evaluates thousands of companies across industries, from early-stage startups to globally recognized brands, on the strength of their ideas and the real-world impact of their work. Being named alongside that group is humbling, and it motivates us to keep pushing.
There's still so much more fruit to put in people's hands.
