Growing the freshest and most flavorful berries means taking a more thoughtful approach.

(Psst... we never, ever use glyphosates.)

Every Fruitist berry has a story. It begins long before harvest, shaped by the right climate, thoughtful farming, and thousands of decisions made along the way.

The journey starts on farms we proudly operate.

Because we oversee the journey from seedling to shipment, we can make informed decisions at every stage, helping us grow blueberries that are consistently fresh, flavorful, and worthy of the Fruitist name.

Growing

01

It all starts here.
We choose climates where our berries can thrive, care for every plant, and work alongside nature to give our fruit the best possible beginning.

Testing

02

Quality at every stage.
Throughout the growing and harvesting process, our berries are sampled, tested, and reviewed against our quality standards.

Packing

03

Freshness is protected.
Our berries are packed with care to help preserve their flavor, texture, and freshness from the moment they leave the field.

Shipping

04

Delivered at their very best.
We carefully manage the journey to stores so Fruitist berries arrive fresh, flavorful, and ready to enjoy.

When you care for every step,
you can taste the difference.

Managing and overseeing the journey gives us greater visibility and accountability, from how our berries are grown to how they reach you.

Quality isn’t checked once. It’s considered every step of the way.

From the first field sample to the final shipment, our approach is guided by science, experience, and a commitment to delivering berries we are proud to share.

Before Harvest

Before picking begins, our berries are sampled and tested to confirm they meet our standards. Harvest begins once required results are reviewed and approved.

During Harvest

Sampling continues throughout harvest, with additional testing conducted based on established protocols and field conditions.

Independent Lab Analysis

Samples are reviewed by independent laboratories, with results shared with the teams responsible for managing each stage of the process.

Informed Field Decisions

Our testing approach allows our teams to respond to the conditions and needs of each crop throughout the growing season.

Thoughtful standards from the start.

Our growing practices are guided by clearly defined standards for how our blueberries are grown and cared for.

Want to learn more?

We believe that you have a right to know where your berries come from, how they're grown, and what goes into protecting them.

Here are a few commonly asked questions.

  • How do you minimize pesticide use?

We start with Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an approach that prioritizes ecological solutions over chemical use, reducing the need for pesticide intervention. Where we can, we use biological alternatives instead of synthetic pesticides.

  • What standards do your berries have to meet?

The strictest ones that apply anywhere we sell. We operate in markets around the world, and we test to meet the requirements of every one of them. Not the most lenient standard available to us. The most restrictive. If a field can't clear that bar, it doesn't move forward.

  • How often do you test?

At the start of each harvest, we generally test once a week per lot. The question we ask isn't "have we met the minimum?" It's "is this field clean?" We test as much as we need.

  • Are your labs independent?

Yes. Every sample goes to an independent laboratory, not an internal one. Results come from outside, we review them on receipt, and every decision about whether a field can proceed is based on what those results say.

  • How do you decide what's allowed on your farms?

Every crop protection product goes through a review before it's ever used. We validate residue limits for each active ingredient, confirm the product is registered and approved in the country where it's being applied, and evaluate how long residue levels take to fall after application.
